STUDIO ASSISTANT

New York, NY · Full-time hourly

We are looking for a Studio Assistant to join the Fox Fodder team. This role will support of Manhattan-based floral studio, the operations and the team, helping to keep everything running smoothly across a broad scope of work — daily deliveries, weekly accounts, deliverable events, and an evolving retail presence.

This is a role for someone who is organized, communicates clearly, genuinely enjoys flowers, and wants to be part of a studio where the standard of work is high and the team takes pride in what they do. You will touch every part of the operation — from client communication to routing deliveries, answering the phone, processing flowers, and helping on the studio floor.

The Role

The Studio Assistant works in direct support of the Studio Coordinator and Head of Design, helping to manage the day-to-day operational flow of the studio. You will be a reliable point of contact for clients and staff, assist in keeping studio systems running, and play a hands-on role in how product moves through the studio — from incoming flowers to outgoing deliveries.

While design adjacent, this is not a design role. This role is suited best for someone who's strengths are in production, logisitcs, and maintaining systems.

What You Will Do

Product & Flowers

  • Work directly with flowers and finished arrangements — receiving product, maintaining quality standards, and supporting studio workflow
  • Develop a working knowledge of flowers, seasonality, and the Fox Fodder aesthetic over time
  • Assist in keeping product organized, fresh, and properly handled throughout the studio

Studio Communication

  • Answer and manage studio phone and email — client inquiries, order questions, event coordination, and internal team communication
  • Serve as a warm, professional first point of contact for anyone reaching out to Fox Fodder Flowers
  • Route communication appropriately to the right team members and follow up to ensure nothing falls through

Website & Shopify

  • Assist with updates to the Fox Fodder Flowers website — product listings, availability, and general content.
  • Manage and update Shopify as needed — tracking online orders and ensuring the storefront reflects current offerings .Fresh product arrives daily
  • Flag any technical issues or gaps in the online experience to the appropriate team member

Retail

  • On days when the studio is open beyond appointment-only hours, assist with retail sales and in-person client service
  • Represent Fox Fodder Flowers with warmth, knowledge, and professionalism on the studio floor
  • Help present the studio and product in line with the Fox Fodder aesthetic and retail standards

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a floral studio or a closely related environment
  • A working knowledge of flowers and their handling is important; deep design expertise is not required
  • A genuine interest in flowers and a willingness to learn — aptitude, curiosity, and personality matter as much as credentials here
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks without losing track of the details
  • Clear, professional communicator — comfortable on the phone, over email, and in person with clients
  • Comfortable with Shopify, Google Workspace, and basic administrative tools; willing to learn new systems
  • A team player who is happy to pitch in wherever needed and does not need to be asked twice
  • Calm under pressure and reliable — this role requires consistency day in and day out
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to drive in NYC
  • Based in New York (required)
